IT Professional - ICT Professional Competence Level 3
Awarding Organisation and Level
City & Guilds Level 3
Course Overview
This qualification is for anyone who uses ICT on a professional level as a major part of their job role. This is designed to reflect the work of individuals whose job role includes IT support and maintenance, business management, systems operation, networking, programming software or development of IT systems, in their day to day work, and recognises skills and knowledge already acquired either through other qualifications or previous experience and learning. The course can be tailored to suit an individual’s own job role and their particular circumstances.
It has flexible training and assessment options including e-learning, self study and classroom-based learning options. The course helps to build skills and confidence in a range of areas by recognising the application of a range of IT skills and knowledge in the workplace, meeting employer workforce demands. The flexibility of this qualification will enable an individual’s skills to be adapted for a specific job and employer requirement.

Training/Study Options
Your assessor will visit your workplace on a regular basis to carry out assessment activities. In between these visits, tasks will also be given to the learner and they will also be able to contact their assessor by email.
At the outset of the course, a skills analysis will be carried out to determine the learner’s current skills level which will enable a judgement to be made as to any training that might be required. This training can include sessions run within our training centres, both as part of a group and one-to-one sessions, or as self study e-learning which can be achieved in the learner’s own time.
This qualification is assessed in a number of different ways i.e. assignments, observations, practical assessments, video and photographic evidence etc. Submission dates will be set and you will get feedback on your work which will enable you to complete your units.
If you wish to enrol 6 or more learners from a single organisation, we can arrange to come to your own premises to deliver the necessary assessment and training days.
As a large part of the course involves collecting evidence and assessment, learners will need to be in a real working environment where this can be done. They will also need to allocate some time for organising and planning their course work and progression.
Entry Requirements
The learner should have already achieved the level 2 qualification or have a suitable level of experience in a relevant job role. There should be opportunity within their job role to demonstrate the required competence as laid down by the qualification standards.
Good levels of English and Maths would also be desirable.
