Course Overview
This qualification is designed for those with some experience in computing either as a hobby or through workplace experience. It can provide further confidence to work effectively with ICT and deal with tasks that are straightforward or routine.
The course helps to build skills and confidence in a range of areas by recognising the application of a range of IT skills and knowledge in the workplace. The flexibility of the qualification enables an individual’s skills to be adapted for a specific job and employer requirement.
Qualification/Course Structure
The course consists of 16 QCF credits with the following units available:
- Improving productivity using IT (mandatory)
- Word processing software
- Using email
- Using the Internet
- Spreadsheet software
- Presentation software
- Imaging software
- Database software
Other optional units are available with the course able to be tailored to the needs of the candidate.
Training/Study Options
The course is delivered in an intense format with a number of training days being followed by a practical assessment for each unit which carries a grading and ultimately leads to the overall qualification.
If you wish to enrol 6 or more learners from a single organisation, we can arrange to come to your own premises to deliver the necessary assessment and training days.
Entry Requirements
Although there are no formal entry requirements, the applicant should have an interest in IT and be able to use the basic functions of a computer in either the home or working environment.
Good levels of English and Maths would also be desirable.
Duration of Course & Locations
Training would be delivered within one of our training centres:
- Rayleigh
- Chelmsford
It is anticipated that the length of the programme will be 5 days although this depends on the learner’s progress through the course.
