Course Overview
You are looking to start a career in spectator control and want to gain the practical skills and knowledge you need to find your first job in the industry.
Qualification/Course Structure
To achieve the Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events, learners must complete four mandatory units.
Unit 1 – How stewards prepare for spectator events (assessed by multiple choice test)
Learning outcomes are:-
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of stewards and other staff at spectator events
- Know how stewards prepare for their duties at spectator events
- Know how stewards check for and respond to hazards at spectator event venues
Unit 2 – How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events (assessed by multiple choice test)
Learning outcomes are:
- Know how stewards control entry, exit and movement of spectators at events
- Know how stewards recognise and respond to illegal and prohibited items at spectator events
- Know how stewards help customers with their problems at spectator events
- Know how stewards deal with challenging customer behaviour at spectator events
Unit 3 – How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning
Learning outcomes are:
- Know how to respond to injuries and illnesses on a first on scene basis
- Know how to follow emergency procedures
Unit -4 How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events
Learning outcomes are:
- Know how stewards recognise and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events
- Know how stewards recognise and respond to illegal and unsociable behaviour at spectator events
Training/Study Options
Training will be conducted in the class room using power point presentations, learner participation scenarios and discussions. Support material will be provided. At the end of each session an online multiple choice test will be taken which has a pass/fail grade.
Entry Requirements
You don't need any previous experience, and you don't need to be working in the industry already.
Age restriction 16+
Duration of Course & Locations
Training would be delivered at one of our training centres
- Chelmsford
- Rayleigh
There are two delivery options available:
- 5 day consecutive training Monday to Friday
- 3 weekend trainings Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday
